Volunteer Centre   Volunteer Centres

Introduction

Are you responsible for the day to day running of a volunteer centre in your community or do you work for one? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

What can we do to help?

The volunteer actions listed on Help From Home are not your traditional opportunities and you probably don't have them on your books. We are looking to collaborate with you to make these opportunities available to your 'customers', as we feel that they would compliment those that are already listed on your database.

Give me 5 good reasons why I should contact Help From Home

Glad you asked. Here's the reasons why:

Volunteer handsNumber One home based volunteer opportunities might act as a taster to demonstrate the potential good that volunteering can do.

Number Two they are all just as beneficial to worthy causes as the more traditional ones

Number Three a hesitant volunteer could be introduced to micro-volunteering as the actions can be conducted in a safe and familiar environment, ie their home. This may increase their confidence about volunteering and encourage them to approach your centre for a more traditional opportunity at a later date

Number Four
a potential volunteer may be thankful to your centre for introducing them to a micro-volunteer opportunity and pass this on to their friends, who may in turn visit your centre to see what else you have got on your books. Word of mouth is the greatest form of  publicity!

Group of PeopleNumber Five some people might just want to squeeze in a little more volunteering in between their traditional volunteering activities. A micro volunteering activity might pique their interest in a subject which they may eventually want to pursue further through your centre

Free Cheat Sheet

As a service to Volunteer Centres, we've produced a free downloadable Cheat Sheet that provides an at-a-glance view of some of the more fun / quirkier micro actions potential volunteers can participate in. We think that by showing volunteers this Cheat Sheet, it will pique their interest (and maybe yours) to the extent that you'll have an instant volunteer.

Do let us know via the Contact Us page that you're using the cheat sheet though, so that we can add you to the map below. The more VCs that are shown, the more encouragement it gives to other VCs to embrace the micro volunteering opportunities out there - which ultimately benefits everybody in the end.

Is 'Help From Home' included on any volunteer centre database?

Just look at the map below to see who's on board.
