Vision
Micro volunteering is not really on
people’s radars at the moment and it is Help From
Home’s aim to bring this concept to a wider
audience. Thus, to bring about this change, Help
From Home has the following visions, which we hope
you will follow as we implement them in the coming
months and years! |
|
We wish to introduce the following additional
categories:
-
Provide teacher education resource
packs
-
Introduce classroom games centred
around micro-volunteering where kids will be
awarded with a 'Hero Helper' avatar / certificate;
-
Introducing a concept called
Unfolding Kindness - it's about enabling kids
to encourage others to micro-volunteer their
time through simple trackable origami models).
-
We've
already made a start on this one, (click
here)
but there's so much more to do
-
Introduce
league tables featuring firms
competing for Charity Kudos points for every
action a firm completes – the more points, the
greater the PR rating of that firm
Additional Vision Ideas
-
Community Service
- adding a facility so that people
can be credited the time spent to their Community
Service hours upon completion of a micro volunteer
task
-
Chari-Tree
- introducing a concept called Chari-Tree which is intended to raise money for
the smaller grassroot organisations featured on
Help From Home, via a free personalised humorously
pre-written family tree, ie Help From Home's very
own micro-volunteering opportunity
-
Micro Volunteer Capital
- Help From Home is based in Cardiff,
the capital of Wales within the United Kingdom and
it is intended to explore the notion of Cardiff
becoming the Micro Volunteer Capital of the world.
Each capital around the world wants to claim to be
something unique and no-one has grabbed this
snappy little title yet!
-
Newspaper Article
- encouraging newspapers to include a
weekly / fortnightly 'Micro-volunteering Spot' or
'Things You Can Do In Your Pyjamas', describing
briefly a micro volunteer action from Help From
Home.
We've
already made a start on this one, (click
here)
but there's so much more to do
-
National Volunteer Week
- encouraging organisations
like
WCVA,
Volunteering England to promote micro-volunteer opportunities for National Volunteer Week in the UK
-
Celebs In Their Pyjamas
- encouraging celebs to don their pyjamas to help
promote the concept of micro volunteering. If
you're a celeb, then please get in touch - we'd
simply love to talk to you!
-
Page-a-Day Calendar
- developing
a page-a-day calendar with a home based
micro-volunteer action on each day with all
proceeds going to some of the smaller grassroot
organisations featured on
Help From Home
-
Ambassadors -
creating a
network of country specific 'Ambassadors' to
encourage people in their own country to consider
micro-volunteering in some of their spare time
If you feel you can help us out on
any of the above visions, then please do get in
contact with us. Advice, information or just some
contacts of useful websites or people would be
handy. |
