FEATURED VOLUNTEER ACTION
The Mother Bear Project is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to a child, primarily those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa, by giving them a gift of love in the form of a hand-knitted and crocheted bear. The bears are normally accompanied with a tag signed by the knitter. It is hoped that the child, who will have nearly nothing in the world, is felt loved by someone, even though that person may be half way around the world.
Knitting patterns are available from the site and once a bear is completed, it can either be posted or dropped off at various locations within the US. The project can also be helped out with donations of packing tape, yarn, knitting needles and polyfil.
'Make a bear, make a difference'.
