NEW SITES ADDED

Lend4Health - Lend4Health facilitates community-funded, interest-free micro-loans to enable individuals and groups seeking funds for the "biomedical" treatment of children and adults with autism spectrum and related disorders. Loans, which will be paid back over a defined term, can be as low as $1.

Surf 4 the Earth - This is a website traffic exchange programme that helps you to gain exposure of your website/blog. The more you view other websites, the more exposure you will get for yours. You gain credits for doing this, which can then be donated to wildlife and conservation charities as cash.

Parents as Teachers - This organisation provides information, support and encouragement for parents to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of their life. There are various online advocacy campaigns available centered around the above mission statement.

FEATURED VOLUNTEER ACTION

Galaxy Zoo

  Galaxy Zoo

The Galaxy Zoo project contain photos of almost a quarter of a million galaxies which have been imaged with a camera attached to a robotic telescope (the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, no less). In order to understand how these galaxies formed, they need your help to classify them according to their shapes - a task at which your brain is better than even the fastest computer. Briefly how it works is that you will be shown an image of a galaxy and then be asked a series of questions about it. All you need to do is to look for features that mark out different types of galaxy and answer the questions as well as you can. So far, more than 200,000 people have taken part in the Galaxy Zoo project, having produced a wealth of valuable data and in the process sending telescopes on Earth and in space chasing after discoveries made by people just like you. Ever wanted to become a star? Well, classifying one maybe the next best thing!
