Introduction

In order to make any measurable impact into the concept of home volunteering, 'Help From Home' needs to expand beyond the confines of just the home based opportunities listed on the website. It needs to approach the concept from various different angles so as to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. For this to happen, it needs willing volunteers to participate in any one of the projects listed below. Education Packs for Children / Teachers

It's our aim to eventually contact schools with the intention of providing downloadable posters and action / education packs, so that teachers can introduce the concept of home volunteering to the children they teach. The packs would feature opportunities that would be appealing to a child and be graphically designed so as to be fun and interesting to a child's eye. This will eventually be incorporated into a 'KidZone' on the website. We're open to any suggestions on designs to make this happen.

Home Volunteering Groups

How enthusiastic are you about the home volunteering concept? Could you organise a group of people to spend some time in your own home or somebody else's to participate in some of the volunteering activities listed on the website? Maybe you could advertise it as a pyjama party! No, not that type of pyjama party, but a get together of people volunteering their time dressed just in their pyjamas! Here's two organisations that could help you to start the ball rolling - Volunteer Meetup Groups and PledgeBank. Help From Home Book

The concept of home volunteering isn't exactly new, but a book devoted to the subject is - do a web search if you don't believe us! We are looking for a volunteer to string together a few words and create a book or an e-book, focussing on the varied and numerous home based volunteering opportunities out there. You'll presumably use this website as your main source of inspiration! Getting the book published can be left up to you or to us. Either way, we're not that interested in making any money from it - it's the promotion of the home volunteering concept that's important to us. Here's two books written in a style that could get the ball rolling for you - Do The Right Things! and The Difference A Day Makes.
